Used Instruments
Here
at the Early Music Shop, we have a wide array of used instruments that
can fill a need in your ensemble at a price that is much lower than that
of a new model. Our inventory changes constantly, so please call with
specific requests. Except as noted, all used recorders have been tested, cleaned, revoiced as needed and put into top playing condition.
As with new instruments, we are happy to send used instruments out on
approval and we encourage you to compare a few options to find the best
match for your needs and tastes.
If you have an instrument you would like to place with us for sale on
consignment, please give us a call to discuss the specifics.
Note: Only a representative selection of the used instruments we have
for sale are listed here - if you don't see what you're looking for,
please CALL to inquire. This listing is updated when time allows; instruments listed here may not be available. We regret that we simply do not have the resources to provide pictures or sound samples; please do not ask.
Newest additions are in blue, instrument listings which are greyed out are currently out on approval. Last updated 02/14/2025. Unless otherwise noted, instruments are pitched at a=440/442. S/H = single holes. Instruments described as 'older models' usually date from the 1960's-70's. Scroll down for new buzzies...

Occasionally we are
asked to sell estate instruments, usually older model recorders. Often
these were the best instruments available—40+ years ago—but they are not
quite up to the standards of recorders being produced today. It isn't
cost effective to invest in reconditioning these recorders, so they are
being sold AS IS and are priced accordingly. Unless otherwise noted, all
instruments have double holes, but do NOT include a case.
